We always compare php with python – both being powerful server side languages. The power of php lies in the numerous frameworks that are available for itself. Wordpress, which powers close to 35% of all websites live today is written in php. Python is comparatively new age and has gained quite some respectable traction now. From 2016 to 2018, the year over year growth of Python in the US and UK market has been a steady 27%+, much higher than the rate at which PHP has been growing.
It is much easier to write good code in Python than PHP, because python as a very well-thought-out architecture which is well-designed for speed, scalability, robustness and ease of learning.
Also when it comes to other use cases, where we need to develop for image processing, NLP, AI, Machine learning, desktop applications, mobile applications etc. python clearly is a winner. PHP on the other hand does not support these advanced requirements.
At BitWise ventures, we love learning and exploring new technologies. We recently delved into python development for a complex-statistics involving project for McKC India. We are excited to expand our resources and expertise in python as time progresses.
